Summer Music Camp 2025!

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Important Info:
Location: Platt High School
Drop Off is at 8am: *UPDATE* Please drop off at Oregon Road entrance by the track/pool. The front entrance will be for busses.

 
 
Breakfast and Lunch available to all students!

 

Pick Up Between 11:50am-12:00pm: *UPDATE* Please pick up at Oregon Road entrance by the track/pool. The front entrance will be for busses. (Students will be escorted outside by staff and we will dismiss to parents/guardians). If you are running late to pick up your child for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible at 860-559-9289.

Please have students bring:
Water bottle 
Instruments (They will be given an instrument to use for camp session if needed.)
Comfortable clothes and shoes (Some days will involve outdoor games with water so we recommend "outdoor play clothes".)
Sunscreen for outdoor activity time

Students will experience:

Band, Choral, and Orchestral Ensembles 
Small Group and Individualized Instruction 
Elective classes in songwriting, improvisation, music technology and more! 
Fun outdoor activities and games!

For your planning purposes, we will have a short "MPS Summer Music Informance" at the end of our 2nd Session at Platt HS on July 18th @10:30am! Parents/friends/families are welcome to come see and hear some performances and sharing of new knowledge!

GENERAL INFORMATION:

THE MPS SUMMER MUSIC CAMP is back for another great summer of music! 
Our camp has been running for over 17 years and is a great experience for our new and current musicians entering grades 4 through 8! 

CAMP SCHEDULE:

8:00 Arrival to Platt High School - Bus transportation available
8:00-8:20 Breakfast (included)
8:20-12:00 Camp sessions, rehearsals, snack and activities
12:00 Pick-up at Platt Main Entrance / Bus Departure 

Reminders:

Dress comfortably
Bring your instrument if you have one at home. Instruments will be provided to anyone who needs one
Get ready to have some fun!

The Meriden Public Schools will be hosting our annual summer music program for students entering grades 4 through 8. Here are the details! 

  • July 7-11 and 14-18, 2025
  • Two sessions (students are welcome to take one or both sessions)
  • $75 for one session or $150 for both sessions!
  • Staffed by certified public school music teachers
  • Free breakfast included
  • Camp takes place at the Platt High School Music Department 
  • Open to MPS students entering grades 4 through 8. 
  • Band, Choral and Orchestra ensembles offered 
  • Other great music experiences offered as well! 

Once registered, details and permission form will be provided to parents via ParentSquare. Please ensure that you are receiving ParentSquare communications from your school. This information will come out several weeks before camp begins.
