Roger Sherman School Performing Arts

Ensembles and Programs

Concert Band

The Roger Sherman Concert Band is made up of students who are registered for instrumental in grades 4 and 5 on band instruments, (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion). These students receive instruction once a week on their instruments and perform at least twice each school year.

Orchestra

The Roger Sherman Orchestra is made up of students who are registered for instrumental in grades 4 and 5 on orchestra instruments, (violin, viola, and cello). These students receive instruction once a week on their instruments and perform at least twice each school year.

Star Singers Choir

The Sherman Star Singers is Roger Sherman's select choir that will begin meeting in October before school. Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are eligible to participate. Students receive instruction twice a week and are often invited to perform at in-school concerts as well as events outside of the building.

Star Players

The Sherman Star Players is Roger Sherman's drama club. Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are eligible to participate. It meets after school on Mondays and Wednesdays with students called based on need for the upcoming productions. The students work with the director as well as additional staff to put together a fall play and a spring musical. This year's productions are Living Room (Friday, Nov. 1st at 7PM) and A Year with Frog and Toad (Friday, May 15th at 7PM and Saturday, May 16th at 2PM).
